IMLF survey on literacy in India

Our own survey method is being designed now. Until it is published, the figures on this site come from published studies, each named with its source: ASER 2024 by Pratham and the Reuters Institute Digital News Report 2025.

R&D Lab

Experiments, in one place

Small tools we are trying out with students and journalists. Each one is an experiment, not a finished product. They follow one principle: AI should make people think, not think for them.

Experiment

A playful word tool for students, with safety nets built in.

Socho Pehle

An AI tutor for Class 6-8 that asks before it tells. Hints come one step at a time, the answer opens only after the student has tried, and every session ends with the student explaining the idea in their own words.

Verify Desk

A 5W1H coach for journalists. It never says whether a claim is true. It suggests one free check at a time and reviews the journalist's own verdict: publish, hold or debunk.
