For families

Help your child check before they believe, and think before they share.

This is not about telling children what to think. It is about giving them simple habits to think for themselves, and those habits start at home.

Four habits for home

Ask the six questions together

Pick one story at dinner. Who made it? What happened? When, where, why, and how do they know?

Pause before forwarding

Make it a family rule: if a message makes you angry or scared, check it before you send it on.

Talk about scams

Never share an OTP or PIN. Be wary of calls that create panic, such as fake “digital arrest” calls.

Screens, games and sleep

Agree on screen-free times together, and talk about how apps and games are designed to keep us scrolling.

A five-minute family routine

1

Pick one post

Something a family member received this week.

2

Ask three of the six

Who made it? When? How do they know?

3

Decide together

Believe it, check more, or ignore it?
